Yes — family plans are available and often more cost-effective. We'll assess cover needs for each family member and find a plan that works for everyone.
Life Insurance

Life Insurance

Life insurance ensures your loved ones are financially protected if the worst happens. It pays a lump sum that can clear your mortgage, replace income, and provide for your family's future.

Lump sum payout on death
Terminal illness cover (early payment)
Option to increase cover at life events
Funeral cover included
Partner & child extensions available

Common questions

We look at your specific situation - mortgage balance, outstanding debts, dependents, partners income and existing asset position to give a personalised recommendation.
Personal life insurance premiums are generally not tax deductible. However, if the policy is owned by a business, tax treatment may differ. We recommend discussing with your accountant.
Life insurance pays out on death or terminal illness. Trauma insurance pays a lump sum if you're diagnosed with a serious illness (like cancer or a heart attack) but survive. Both are often recommended together.
Trauma Insurance

Trauma Insurance

A serious illness diagnosis shouldn't mean financial disaster. Trauma insurance (also called critical illness cover) pays a tax-free lump sum if you're diagnosed with a covered condition — letting you focus on recovery.

Cancer, heart attack, stroke cover
Pay out a lump sum for recovery
Can repay mortgage or fund treatment
Cover for 40+ medical conditions
Children's trauma cover available

Common questions

Policies typically cover 40+ conditions including cancer, heart attack, stroke, major organ failure, and more. We'll review the policy wordings to ensure you're covered for the conditions most relevant to you.
It pays on diagnosis and survival of a covered condition, typically after a 14-day survival period. The lump sum is tax-free and can be used however you need.
Yes — they serve different purposes. Health insurance covers medical bills; trauma insurance replaces income and covers lifestyle costs during a long recovery. They complement each other well.
Total & Permanent Disability

Total & Permanent Disability

If you become totally and permanently disabled and are unable to work again, TPD insurance provides a lump sum to cover ongoing living costs, modifications to your home, and repayment of debts.

Lump sum if permanently disabled
Cover for any or own occupation
Mortgage & debt repayment
Home modification funding
Rehabilitation support

Common questions

'Own occupation' pays if you can't do your specific job. 'Any occupation' only pays if you can't work in any job. 'Own occupation' is broader and generally preferable — we'll explain the tradeoffs.
TPD pays a one-off lump sum for permanent disability. Income protection pays a monthly benefit for temporary or permanent disability. They work well together to provide comprehensive cover.
TPD can be standalone or bundled with life insurance. Bundled policies are usually cheaper but reduce the life sum insured when the TPD claim is paid. We'll advise on the right structure.
Income Protection

Income Protection

Your ability to earn an income is your most valuable asset. If you're unable to work due to illness or injury, income protection pays a regular monthly benefit — typically 75% of your pre-disability income.

75% of income replaced monthly
Covers illness & injury
Agreed or indemnity value options
2-year or to-age-65 benefit periods
90-day to 4-week wait periods

Common questions

You can choose a benefit period of 2 years or to age 65 (we recommend the latter for most clients). It pays monthly for as long as you're unable to work within the benefit period.
The waiting period is how long you must be off work before payments begin (typically 4 weeks or 13 weeks). A longer waiting period reduces your premium but means you need more savings as a buffer.
For most New Zealanders, income protection premiums are not deductible unless the policy is owned through a business structure. Benefits received are also not taxed.
Mortgage Protection

Mortgage Protection

Protect your home and mortgage repayments if you can't work due to illness, injury, or redundancy. Mortgage protection ensures your family stays in their home — whatever life throws at you.

Monthly benefit covers mortgage repayments
Covers redundancy in some policies
Death & disability cover options
Affordable premiums
Designed to align with your mortgage

Common questions

Life insurance pays a lump sum on death. Mortgage protection is typically structured to pay monthly (or a lump sum) specifically to cover your mortgage repayments, and often includes income protection elements.
Some policies include redundancy cover, which pays your mortgage for a period if you're made redundant. Not all do — we'll review policy wordings carefully.
Life insurance handles death. Mortgage protection ensures your repayments are covered during a period of disability or job loss — which is statistically far more likely than death at working age. Both are valuable.
